Business-to-Business (B2B) WEEE Take-Back Offer
Exertis Ireland Limited is committed to meeting the requirements of the European Union (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2014. These Regulations require producers of electrical and electronic equipment to finance the takeback of WEEE resulting from products that we place on the Irish market. This helps us to ensure that WEEE is reused or recycled safely. In line with that commitment Exertis Ireland Limited will take back WEEE from you. Please contact us for details.
You also have a role to play in ensuring that WEEE is reused and recycled safely. So, if you choose not to return WEEE to us then you should not dispose of it in your bin. The crossed out wheeled-bin symbol on the product reminds users not to dispose WEEE in the bin. You should ensure that the WEEE is collected separately and sent for proper treatment. WEEE contains hazardous substances and if not managed and treated safely it can cause pollution and damage human health.
Will you take my old appliance back on delivery?
Yes. Where applicable, Exertis will take back an equivalent old electrical appliance free of charge when delivering a new appliance on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis.
The old appliance should be disconnected, defrosted where applicable, clean, ready for collection and in an accessible location for the driver.
While we endeavour to collect the old appliance at the same time as delivery, circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally prevent this. Where this occurs, please contact us and we will arrange an alternative collection, provided the appliance meets the agreed collection conditions.
Where can I recycle my appliance/batteries myself?
If you are not ready to return your old appliance at the time of delivery, there are nationwide collection points where household WEEE can be recycled free of charge. Visit WEEE Ireland for further information on collection points.
All WEEE and waste batteries should be recycled separately and should not be placed in household waste bins.
Waste batteries, including rechargeable batteries, are taken back free of charge. You are not required to make a purchase when returning eligible waste batteries. Local authority recycling facilities also accept household WEEE and small batteries in accordance with their local acceptance arrangements.
Household electrical appliances can also be brought for recycling to Ballymount Civic Amenity Site, Ballymount Avenue, Dublin 24, or Estuary Recycling Centre, Swords, Co. Dublin. Please check the relevant facility information before travelling.
